Open Source Nibble – The DIY Meshtastic Node Kit

The Nibble is a Meshtastic node kit debuted at the 38th Chaos Communication Congress to accompany the talk by Kody Kinzie, which you can watch here: "Hacker's Guide to Meshtastic: Off-Grid, Encrypted LoRa Meshnets for Cheap!"

The Nibble is the perfect beginner-friendly node for learning about Meshtastic, and it allows you to select one of two microcontrollers: the RP2040 and the ESP32s3.

You can buy one in a few ways:

  1. PCB Only - Buy just the PCB and source the parts yourself!
  2. Unsoldered Kit - Everything you need to solder your own together
  3. Fully soldered kit - Fully assembled nibble, flashed and tested

For projects that don't require a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth radio, the RP2040 Nibble provides significantly longer runtime, and is able to run on lower voltages.

If you're planning on working with an iPhone or need Bluetooth/Wi-Fi for your project, stick with the more powerful esp32s3 Nibble instead.
